My name is Andrew Petersen and I grew up in a small town on the middle peninsula of the Chesapeake Bay in Virginia. From there I went to Full Sail University in Orlando, Florida, where I earned my Bachelors Degree in Computer Animation. I gradated Salutatorian of my class in the Fall of 2012, and shortly thereafter I moved to Michigan for my first real CG Artist position. RTT was the company that hired me, and they specialized in automotive advertising, and build to price configurators. I started as an entry level 3D Artist having just graduated from school, but over the next few years I grew through the ranks to the position of Animation team lead. I have been the Animation team lead for 3 years now, and have had some cool opportunities to work on some pretty neat stuff, with a team of pretty great people.
More recently, over the past 2 years I have been working on my side hobbies a little more seriously in the realm of photography and videography. It was always something fun that I enjoyed to do, but I have been really practicing this past year to try and make it more of a second job than just a hobby.
Whether it is a computer using Maya, or a camera in my hands, I just love to capture and create things that will immortalize special moments. The ability to go experience something with a group of people and then weeks/months/years later make everyone gather around, pull up the video, and watch everyone immediately grin from ear to ear the second that music begins to play... to me, that feeling is priceless.
